Nerds are tiny, crunchy sour candies, made by taking little crystals of sugar and then tumbling them with successive layers of sour coating, then a coat of color. They're tart, they're sweet, but best of all, they come in cute, divided packages containing two separate flavors, each with its own dispensing opening.
The What-A-Melon/So Verry Cherry combo offers tiny tangy crunchy wild cherry candies on one side of the box, with watermelon Nerds on the other -- you can eat the flavors together or separate, in handfuls or one by one.
Bright red and green, these Nerds make great toppings for ice cream, cupcakes, sugar cookies and gingerbread houses. We've heard tales of adults fighting over the Nerds in their kids' Halloween baskets, but maybe that's just one of those scary urban legends.
